Dr. Solanges Vivens is a nursing professional, entrepreneur, educator and product of Georgetown University School of Nursing. She and two minority partners formed VMTLTC Inc., in 1988. It was a multi-faceted, multi-million-dollar health care company which began on one simple idea: Commitment to Quality.

From her roots as a Haitian immigrant to her ascension as a celebrated healthcare entrepreneur and author, Dr. Vivens embodies the resilience and spirit of leadership that inspires change. She knows firsthand that even if you come from challenging beginnings, you can overcome obstacles and achieve success.
VMT opened its Education Center in 1991. Dr. Solanges became VMT’s sole owner in 1995 where she managed as CEO until April 2018 when she decided to sell her corporations. Dr. Solanges’ leadership and management skills earned her the District of Columbia Health Care Association Award (DCHCA) of 20 years of Making a Difference in the District and Health Care. And she was recently awarded and honored with the Dr. Solanges Vivens Nursing Scholarship by the DCHCA.
As a philanthropist with a sincere heart in helping others and as a member of the Board of the Wellness Community, now known as HOPE Connections, she helps in fundraising events to assist cancer survivors.

Active in long-term health care organizations on both the local and national levels, she has served as President of the DCHCA and Regional Vice-President of the American Health Care Association (AHCA). Dr. Solanges was elected for a three-year term to the National Executive Board of the AHCA and became the first African American elected to the board in its 53-year history.
She continues to implement innovative ideas and to champion education. She has been recognized for her strong commitment to excellence and employment of minorities.
